What’s On
WILD
Black Country Touring presents ‘WILD’, a new theatre production with an ensemble cast of four, a rich soundscape and songs that invite the audience to reflect on what ‘Wild’ means to them. What does it conjure up for you? Is it a moment standing at the edge of a raging sea, or being lifted up and spat out of a whirling tornado; running for your life through city streets or the wilderness at the edge of your home; coming face to face with a wolf, or the animal within that can’t always be tamed? The show takes you through a journey of emotions from exhilarating fear to childlike joy. Visit remote hills, mountains, dark forest, and towns, and find out just how ‘Wild’ these places can be.
“Awesome, intense, real, honest, gripping, brave, fun, moving, shocking, memorable, vivid, vibrant!”
“What a lovely experience this has been. Brilliant storytelling and singing.”
“Triggered visceral emotion and reminded me how wonderful it is to be alive and to be a creature in such a powerful world! Fantastically creative.”

Light in the Darkness
Stories and Songs to Lighten the Dark Times.
Live music and performance storytelling from Cumberlandia Collective: Angie Power, Dave Camlin, Gilli Goodfellow and story-teller Jessie McMeekin.
“In winter, when the green earth is sleeping beneath a blanket of snow, this is the time for storytelling.”
Spend an evening embracing the wildness of winter with spine-tingling music and spell-binding wintery tales.
Cumberlandia are a collective of Cumbrian singers, musicians and storytellers who weave magical narratives through stories and songs, inspired by the traditions of the British Isles, and the turning year. Story-teller Jessie McMeekin and musician Dave Camlin are joined by singers Angie Power and Gilli Goodfellow to form an ensemble who frame Jessie’s powerful and inspiring stories with an enchanting sound world of rich harmony.
This show is for anyone who finds winter hard, and who finds the commercial juggernaut surrounding Christmas a bit overwhelming. It’s designed as an antidote to all that. re-connecting us to the rhythms of the natural world through stories and song, as we cycle through the darkness and back to the light once more. The show is aimed at grown-ups – although there’s nothing that’s unsuitable for children, it’s not designed for them. It will appeal most strongly to audiences who are already engaged with ideas around connecting to our environment and our communities.

I'm Muslamic Don't Panik!
A hilarious and heart-felt story of one man’s journey to Iran to discover his cultural heritage.
Featuring a captivating mixture of live music, spoken word, break-dancing and comedy.
Join Bobak Champion on his journey of self-discovery as he meets a whole cast of weird and wonderful characters - from women defiantly running the first (and last) ever Tehran marathon, to stumbling into an underground breakdance battle.
Whilst the media frequently portray the Middle East as a frightening and dangerous place, Bobak shows us the positivity, joy, family and community that we rarely get to see. This is a beautiful story that will have you laughing-out-loud and leave you feeling full of hope.
After the show, enjoy a chat with your neighbours and the artists as we serve traditional Persian tea and date biscuits called Kolompeh. Everyone is welcome.
“These stories are still few and far between on our stages, and in a world divided by religion, politics and borders, the show provides the perfect stimulation to develop empathy.” Audience member.
“So warm hearted that it is impossible not to enjoy.” ★★★★ The Guardian
“Immerse yourself in Bobak’s world, it will enliven and educate you.” ★★★★★ Fairy Powered Productions

He has released 3 albums, with tours in Canada, Europe, and Central America. In 2017, Duane debuted "Climb," a solo music storytelling show at the Toronto Fringe Festival, receiving praise from founder Gregory Nixon. "Climb" was also showcased at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019 and 2022, and the Milan Fringe Festival in 2023, where it was a runner-up for "Show of the Festival." His new show, "Bob Marley: How Reggae Changed the World," earned a 5-star review from Broadway Baby. Duane continues to push artistic boundaries, exploring social justice themes through his music and theatre.
